To Jerusalem and Back

Here is the Waving Lace sock as it appeared before we left the house this morning to drive to Jerusalem. (For those who may not know, we go to Jerusalem every other Saturday, to see Avi's parents, and his older brother and his family. They live in apartments right next to each other).

Here is how the sock looks now. I actually stopped working on it before we got all the way home. Usually I am rushing to finish a needle's worth of stitches as we pull into our driveway, but this afternoon I was a bit concerned about the length of the heel flap, so I decided to take a break and think things over.

So now you know why I call the Saturdays we go to Jerusalem "sock knitting day."

However, we did get home in time for me to work just a tiny bit on Mother's Arms. I am finally beginning to realize just how slowly this project progresses. I have set myself a goal of finishing it by Meital's birthday, July 30th. I hope I can make it!

And here is another attempt at showing you the beads. I'm sorry it's a bit blurry; I hope you can see them. All the shiny, sparkly bits are the beads. If you can't see them, I guess I will have to rethink my photographic strategy. Either that, or buy a newer, better, snazzier camera. Yeah, that's it. That's exactly what I need to do...

The sock is lovely -- the pattern and yarn go so well together!

You have a great attitude towards this wip. I am sure you will finish it by July. It is going to be lovely. How wonderful it will be when your niece receives her socks.

Thanks for reading my blog. I have been collecting these supplies for more than 15 years. I can't throw anything away because I might need it!

The sock is lovely. I'm amazed at all the cross-stitch in addition to knitting that you are able to do :>)

Gorgeous! Both projects.

Beads add so much to cross stitch, don't they?

Sock looks great. Where is the pattern from? It kinda looks like the pattern I'm using only mine doesn't zig, it only zags! :)
