Return of the X

Remember this? I showed you this cross stitch project, which I started on May 1, 2002, back at the end of September. At that time, I had finished a small cross stitched card for my sister, and decided to flash my Works in Progress in an effort to shame myself into getting back to work on them. Hah.

Well, it took awhile, but today was finally the day. Above is a close up of the one small area that needs to be completed. It's practically miniscule, compared to what I've already finished.

I spent several lovely hours sitting in the mild winter sunshine, working on this piece, and relearning why I used to love cross stitching so much. I'm thrilled with what I was able to accomplish. Though since most of the stitches I made today were actually half-cross stitches, perhaps the name of this post should be Return of the /. Now I am more eager than ever to finish this up. And move on to the next WIP!

Oh, I also managed to make some Oatmeal Cinnamon Chip Muffins this morning. Family verdict: YUM! Of course you know I substituted white chocolate chips for the cinnamon chips. I may just leave them out altogether next time.

Oh, and one more thing:

FINALLY!! Now I can get that package in the mail to Cheyenne River Reservation! Gonna Heet some Feet, baby.

I think she's baaaaaaaaaaaack!

Glad to see you made it back to the land of the living!

I wish I could do more than one craft at a time. I miss cross stitch, but know if I got all my stuff out, the knitting and spinning would get put away....

Chincoteague! Are you familiar with Chincoteague Island and its Pony Penning Day? Where the wild horses are rounded up and guided across the inlet to the other island and enough of the horses sold off to keep the herd manageable back at the park on Assateague Island? It's been going on since before the US was a country.

Nice progress; I love horses and that blue makes it look like they are coming out of the mist. Those are some BRIGHT socks!!! That ought to cheer someone up. I hope you feel all better now.

Glad you are feeling better. Yes, I remember that cross-stich piece and it certainly is beautiful. I don't dare dig out my cross-stich as I have enough problems keeping my apartment in order as it is without digging out more stuff...lol. I'm trying to leave you a comment from home...let's see if I can get it to work.
